When attending the latest 2006 launches in Mandello Del Lario I got strong indications that the next Moto Guzzi project will be a full on sportsbike. Moto Guzzi management has also suggested this in public.

All I know now is that the bike will get a more aerodynamic shape and a more extensive fairing than the old V11. We have looked at the imminent Norge 1200 sports tourer for clues as to how the fairing might look like. We are now launching two designs based on two different directions.
The silver bike is based on the Daytona winning MGS-01 Corsa with a street legal version of the 135bhp racer.
The gorgeous red design is based on a tuned Griso 1100 with fairing, new suspension and radial brakes from Brembo.

Speculations that Moto Guzzi might go World Superbike racing is just rubbish as a brand new liquid cooled engine would have to be designed for that.

Think more in the lines of BMW R1200S sportsbike rather than Ducati 999.
It is good to see that Moto Guzzi is thinking in the lines of a new sportsbike as they literally invented the modern motorcycle.
Go Guzzi!

About www.motorcyclists-online.com English version:
At the beginning, in 2001, www.motorcyclists-online.com was an exclusive French Motorcycle website. Now, since September 2005, it has become bilingual: English speaking people are welcome !
We do believe, at www.motorcyclists-online.com, that linguistic boundaries are not a problem when we share the same passion for bikes.
We are currently working on translating all articles and contents, to finish the UK/US version. You will certainly notice some bugs or translation errors: please do not hesitate to advise us by e-mail, Private Message or by posting in the Forum. Your help is welcome !
For the moment, articles which haven’t been human translated are automatically machine translated, which I must confess is not really famous, but faster than human translators.
