What’s first striking are the new fairing and the new exhaust. But there is more to see… What if I tell you 17500 ?? No, don’t panic, that’s not the price (at least I hope…) but the red zone !!!
The goal is clear: the new 2006 R6 is the new target for its competitors next year.

The cylinder bore has been increased from 65.5 to 67mm and stroke reduced by 2mm (now 43.5mm), thus enabling the engine to reach higher RPMs !
The fuel injection is computer-assisted, and for the first time in this cubic capacity category, it is equipped with the famous EXUP exhaust valves. Valves are in titanium.

The compact muffler, just behind the right foot peg, is the visible part of a quite huge collector, hidden under the engine.
New feature: the slipper clutch.

Gear ratios are shorter, which can be ideal for track, but to be confirmed on the road.
The frame is a brand new masterpiece, with its 24° rake, 96mm trail and 1385mm wheelbase.
Seat height now reaches 850mm.

Suspension has also been improved. The upside-down fork features a remote shim stack for its compression damping circuits.
The radial brake callipers are mounted on massive supports.
On the back side, rear shock is fully adjustable (in preload and damping), and features a compression system to be modified according to your speed (“high-speed” or “low-speed” position).
You’ll also have noticed the brand new swingarm !

I know it’s unfair, but that’s all we got for now ! We’ll let you know as soon as we have anything !

About www.motorcyclists-online.com English version:
At the beginning, in 2001, www.motorcyclists-online.com was an exclusive French Motorcycle website. Now, since September 2005, it has become bilingual: English speaking people are welcome !
We do believe, at www.motorcyclists-online.com, that linguistic boundaries are not a problem when we share the same passion for bikes.
We are currently working on translating all articles and contents, to finish the UK/US version. You will certainly notice some bugs or translation errors: please do not hesitate to advise us by e-mail, Private Message or by posting in the Forum. Your help is welcome !
For the moment, articles which haven’t been human translated are automatically machine translated, which I must confess is not really famous, but faster than human translators.
